On the weekends, in between basketball games and anything else going on, Bren and I love to make the most of our time by visiting our favorite places and restaurants. One of our favorite places is a restaurant that serves delicious New York style pizza in El Segundo called Grimaldi's. We ordered a small caesar salad and a half cheese and half pepperoni and olive pizza to share. After our trip to Grimaldi's, we ventured toward the 10 freeway to Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. We have been to Third Street Promenade a decent amount of times to look at the shops, but we have only been on the pier a few times. It was my idea to take our camera and ride the ferris wheel at night. It sounded like a great idea in my mind! As we took the exit off the freeway for Third Street, we managed to eventually make it to the Nordstrom parking structure which is the least expensive and (least sketchy) structure around. We started making our way toward the pier and found the line to buy tickets ($8 each) to ride the ferris wheel.
Once we bought our tickets, we stood in line for about 20-25 minutes before actually getting on the ride. The wait gave us plenty of time to overanalyze and act like we weren't sketched out at the swinging ferris wheel. Finally, it was our turn to get on the ride and I'm not going to lie.. we were slightly freaking out.
After a minute, the the ride got going and we broke out the camera. We had so much fun seeing everything around us including the waves crashing below the pier. Needless to say, not all of our pictures turned out as I was hoping. Granted, we were shooting at night on a moving ferris wheel and our camera is still on "auto mode." We are overdue for watching more YouTube videos to try to learn more about the features the Nikon offers. Overall, we LOVE the camera but I'm excited to learn more about it before out trip to Zion in a few weeks.
